Whatever you do, don't refuse to explain your symptoms to the medically unqualified, untrained receptionist. Do this at your own peril. But if you dare to question their policy, I suggest recording the call your end, I wish I had as they conveniently do not. I tried to decline explaining my woes, as I was in work in a busy office and could be easily overheard. I thought I was well within my right too, and was according to NHS England. Not according to the judge, jury & executioner manageress though, I was accused of the most disgusting slur by this receptionist so she could, without warning or question expel me from the practice. This 'absolute vile language' was apparantly overheard by another member of staff, so there was two witnesses against just myself. But this was quickly retracted when NHS England investigated, probably all working in cahoots. Just be careful when exercising your right to privacy and confidentiality, they could make up the most awful & hideous lies just to get rid of you! Very disturbing indeed, especially this supposedly being a professional, 'trustworthy' and caring organisation! So be warned your 'private phone calls' could be 'overheard', Really?Anyway I'm trying to take a positive from this awful experience, it has definitely opened my eyes up, in terms of just how devious fellow human beings can be.
Ridiculous that you cannot get an appointment when you feel unwell..you have to book 3 weeks in advance?? How do you know you are going to be ill in 3 weeks?? This needs addressing.
